Healthcare worker's views and experiences of factors impacting confidence to provide perinatal bereavement support: a qualitative study in Malawi and Zimbabwe.

Diagnosing autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in adults is challenging because some of its symptoms overlap with other disorders affecting social interactions, for example, borderline personality disorder (BPD). This study shows that technology-assisted diagnostics (TAD) can provide support for this differentiation by analysing brief, 20-minute conversations recorded with simple tools like webcams and microphones. By applying machine learning to features extracted from speech, facial expressions and movement, our approach achieved a high accuracy in differentiating ASD and BPD. Using our scalable TAD approach for differential diagnostics could transform clinical practice by facilitating timely and accurate mental health assessments. Features could be extracted from audio and video recordings of clinical interviews without the need for additional assessments.
