Abstract
A multi-faceted behaviour-change strategy achieved consistent, long-term adoption of nurse-initiated care across diverse emergency settings despite political and unexpected challenges. Clinical champions as a strategy in acute healthcare is becoming less sustainable because it adds extra responsibilities to clinicians who are already working at full capacity.
