Abstract
Nurse managers should recognize presenteeism among emergency nurses as a multilevel workforce management issue shaped by personal health, work‐related demands, social support, team functioning, and institutional policies. Management strategies should include establishing a nonpunitive sick‐leave culture, optimizing flexible staffing and rostering, providing timely workload redistribution, strengthening collegial and team support, and offering accessible psychological and health‐support resources. These measures may help emergency nurses make safer work‐participation decisions, reduce burnout and presenteeism, enhance job satisfaction and performance, and ultimately protect patient safety and care quality.
