Abstract
Critical health literacy (CHL) helps people to evaluate health information, understand how social and living conditions shape health and act on health issues individually and with others. This scoping review maps 53 interventions across countries and settings that aim to strengthen CHL. Interventions predominantly addressed appraisal and individual decision-making, whereas social determinants and collective action were rarely integrated.
