Abstract
Behavior encompasses actions, reactions, and responses to environmental stimuli and social interactions. In children, behavior is influenced by various factors including parental guidance, cultural background, fear, anxiety, cognitive development, and temperament [, , ]. Early childhood represents a critical period in which the foundations for health‐related behaviors are established. During this stage, parents play a pivotal role in shaping their children's behaviors and attitudes through modeling, parenting practices, and direct interactions. Research suggests that parenting behavior significantly affects children's health and developmental outcomes [, , ]. Parenting style can be categorized in two primary dimensions: parental control, which encompasses discipline, supervision, and autonomy granting, and parental warmth, which includes affection, acceptance, and engagement with the child. These dimensions define distinct parenting styles []. Parenting style is a complex construct that integrates attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors to create an emotional environment that influences children's behavioral responses and coping mechanisms. In pediatric dentistry, parental influence plays a crucial role in determining a child's behavior during dental visits, which can ultimately impact treatment success [, , ].
