Abstract

Mental health has become a critical concern, ranking among the leading causes of Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) worldwide [–]. Depression stands out as one of the most significant conditions, currently the second leading cause of burden of disease globally and is expected to become the leading cause in 2030 [, ] Beyond its psychological impact, depression is associated with increased mortality and morbidity and substantial economic cost [, ], with even greater consequences when left untreated [, ]. Despite the availability of Evidence-Based Psychological Practices (EBPP), a substantial gap remains in effectively addressing depression at a global level []. This gap is largely attributed to challenges in translating evidence-based interventions into real-world settings, rather than a lack of effective treatments. In this context, Implementation Research (IR) provides a framework to examine the adoption of Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), focusing on the determinants that influence their uptake in routine care.
