Abstract

Moral distress has been widely studied in high-income countries’ health systems, where it is increasingly recognised as an organisational and systemic issue linked to burnout, turnover and compromised care quality. In African contexts, evidence is relatively limited and has not previously been synthesised. This is the first scoping review to synthesise papers on moral distress in African health systems.
