Abstract
This study used a large, systematically sampled cohort of 404 participants from three public hospitals in a low-resource setting. The integration of the health belief model and health-related quality-of-life frameworks provides a comprehensive theoretical approach. Validated instruments (Summary of Diabetes Self-care Activities, WHO Quality of Life–based tools) with acceptable internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha 0.756) were employed.
