Abstract

Evidence indicates that social protection interventions in Pakistan, such as cash transfers and subsidised healthcare, can improve maternal and child nutrition. However, access and equity gaps persist, particularly for vulnerable women in rural and remote areas. Climate change worsens inequalities by threatening livelihoods, food security and access to healthcare, emphasising the need for culturally suitable, locally tailored, transformative climate-resilient solutions. The study centres community voices rather than imposing a research agenda; it coproduces the most urgent research priorities that reflect local realities, taking into account communities’ life situations, which exacerbate the impact of climate change-induced extreme weather events on their lives.
