Abstract

On-site availability of laboratory tests for routine HIV diagnosis and management was limited in a diverse global cohort of HIV clinics in 2019. Most clinics in this cohort did not report user fees, although this varied by country income status and sources of donor funding for HIV. Monitoring user fees for essential HIV-related laboratory tests may provide important insights about how national health systems are responding to steep reductions in global HIV and other donor funding.
