Abstract
Spending more time each week practicing calligraphy was linked to positive changes in specific brain connections involved in attention and mental switching. These observed changes were not simply due to aging or repeated testing, but were related to increased practice time compared with usual habits. The findings suggest that staying cognitively active in later life may help support healthy brain function, and calligraphy may be a simple and safe activity worth further study.
