Abstract
Children with a migrant background in high-income countries experience a higher risk of mental health problems but use mental health services less often than children in the majority population. Barriers such as limited knowledge of the health system, language difficulties and stigma may hinder access to mental healthcare for migrant families. Migrant parents reported low mental health literacy and limited knowledge of where to seek mental healthcare for their children prior to the intervention.
