Abstract

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring phytocannabinoid which is used to treat a range of conditions. Recent Food Standards Agency policy changes aim to regulate CBD businesses while ensuring consumer safety. This research identifies demographic characteristics associated with awareness and use of CBD products across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, patterns of product use and how decisions about a suitable dose/serving vary across consumers. These insights provide an evidence base for policymakers to better understand and monitor CBD awareness and use across the UK. We suggest the need for better education for consumers and healthcare professionals.
