Abstract
This study is the first to demonstrate that patients with unresolved recovery after iliac vein stent placement express “internalized distress” through bodily cues, with silence and delayed help-seeking identified as overlooked barriers to recovery. This study reveals that regret over treatment is a key factor contributing to patients’ disengagement from follow-up care. This study broadens the perspective of unresolved recovery beyond biomedical outcomes, proposing that postoperative care should incorporate culturally attuned communication, emotional screening, and individualized self-management strategies.
