Abstract
Antibiotic therapy for bacteraemia continues to be empirical, and carbapenem therapy also appears to be very effective in cases of resulting tricuspid valve endocarditis. Interdisciplinary consultation can be very helpful for making the correct diagnosis of endocarditis in patients with complex symptom constellation. Only through repeated examinations was it possible to detect infectious tricuspid valve endocarditis with rapidly progressing insufficiency.
