Abstract
The rate of medication treatment for opioid use disorder (MOUD) increased substantially during residential treatment stays among Medicaid enrollees 2017-2021. By contrast, rates of MOUD were low 5 months following stays and increased only slightly. Thus, improving retention in MOUD treatment following residential treatment stays could be an important future policy goal.
