Abstract
Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) is the most common adult leukaemia in Australasia and is characterised by a highly variable clinical course. Over the past decade, advances in disease biology, prognostic assessment and therapeutic options have led to substantial changes in clinical practice, particularly with the introduction of targeted agents and fixed‐duration treatment strategies. In 2023, a consensus statement addressing the diagnosis and management of CLL in Australasia was published to provide regionally relevant guidance for clinicians. Since publication, additional clinical trial data, longer‐term follow‐up of existing studies and evolving patterns of access to molecular diagnostics and therapies have continued to inform optimal CLL management. These developments have implications for treatment selection, sequencing of therapy and supportive care across different disease settings.
