Barriers to healthcare and justice for sexual and gender-based violence survivors in Sierra Leone: A gender-integrated socio-ecological analysis.

Approximately 73% of patients with Friedreich Ataxia (FA) may present abnormalities in the visual nervous system with or without symptoms []. The function of the whole visual pathway (from the retinal photoreceptors to the occipital cerebral cortex) can be objectively assessed using Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP) recordings [,,,,,,,,,], but the VEP bioelectrical responses can be influenced by retinal ganglion cells (RGC) or macular impairment [,]. By using simultaneous recordings of VEP and pattern electroretinogram (PERG, which assesses RGC function [,,,,]), it is possible to derive an electrophysiological index of the post-retinal neural conduction, named Retino-Cortical Time (RCT) []. Abnormal RCT in patients with demyelinating diseases [], but also in patients with glaucoma [], was found, suggesting a dysfunction in the post-retinal visual pathways.
