4-Phenylbutyrate Rescue in GABRA1 Variants Associated with Developmental Epileptic Encephalopathies: From Cell and Mouse Models to Humans.

• This bibliometric study (1,089 Web of Science publications, 2005–2025) maps the evolution of erectile dysfunction (ED) and premature ejaculation (PE) comorbidity research. Over two decades, the field has shifted from a single-disease focus toward an integrated comorbidity paradigm, emphasizing holistic management and shared mechanisms. However, the field remains nascent. The proposed neuro-vascular-psychological framework is a hypothesis derived from literature trends and requires clinical validation. • ED and PE are the most common male sexual dysfunctions, with 23–29% comorbidity, particularly in middle‑aged/elderly men and diabetic patients. Emerging views suggest they may be interrelated symptoms of a common underlying condition rather than distinct disorders. Pathophysiology spans neurobiological, vascular, endocrine, and psychosocial factors. Clinically, phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (e.g., tadalafil) combined with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (e.g., dapoxetine) remain first-line; adjunctive therapies include traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, cognitive behavioral therapy, virtual reality, and pelvic floor exercises. • Using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Bibliometrix, we analyzed publication patterns, geographic distribution, journals, authors, institutions, keywords, and citation networks to address: (I) evolution of knowledge structure; (II) key drivers of change; (III) research gaps and imbalances; (IV) future translational directions.
