REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD candidates must have completed all doctoral work except dissertation by end of current academic year
- Post-MFA candidates must be recent recipients (degrees granted in 2026 or to be granted in 2027)
- Exceptional promise as scholars
- Interest and capacity for teaching broadly diverse students
- Pursuing career in higher education in United States

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- First year: Complete dissertation work, teach one course as faculty member
- Second year: Academic career development, teach one course
- Participate in broader intellectual and community life of College
- Programming within affiliated unit
- Attend First3 luncheons
- Attend Rice Center for Teaching events

Established 1985. Supports advanced graduate students and post-MFA artists. Honoring Gaius Charles Bolin, first Black graduate of Williams in 1889. Two fellows appointed each year.
